Planning submitted for 246 apartment scheme in the heart of Bracknell

ECE are excited to be working on a new development for Stonegate Homes in the centre of Bracknell.

The development is a mix of 112 one bed and 134 two bed apartments ( 25% affordable) set within a constrained urban site overlooking the railway station and close to The Lexicon, a new retail regeneration project in the town centre. The scheme also includes space for 173 car spaces, 383 cycle spaces and 130sqm of commercial space.

The design approach is to create a sustainable and desirable place to live and maximise the benefits of town centre living. Historical context of a market on the site provides the inspiration for creating an enclosed amenity space surrounded by residential living.

It is proposed that the two blocks have a crisp white render finish to the outward facing facades and natural wood façade panel system to the internal facing elevations, making reference to Bracknell Forest. Projecting balconies clad in coloured glass add colour and vibrancy to the facades and take their inspiration from the turning colours of forest leaves. The vertical screens featured on the corner balconies and car park screens are inspired by the vertical rhythm of Bracknell Forest pine trees.
