ECE and CALA Homes have recently secured planning permission for a bespoke residential development on a challenging site within the South Downs National Park.
The approved development will provide 77 sustainable bespoke designed homes, ranging from one bedroom apartments to four bedroom houses.
This scheme will provide 40% affordable housing to address the current local need within the village of Liss. The immediate area surrounding the site displays mixed architectural design and character with catslide roofs and dormer windows. These features have influenced the architectural approach to this project, but with a more contemporary interpretation.
ECE worked closely with landscape consultant Fabrik, to create a landscape led approach, attending a series of design workshops with a variety of stakeholders. The existing vernacular informed the contemporary approach to the architecture that was unanimously supported by the South Downs National Park Planning Committee.
