- ECE were able to add value by working closely with the Mechanical and Electrical consultants to deliver a refurbished building to meet current regulatory and safety standards.
- ECE’s solution to poor circulation spaces raised the height of the corridor ceiling to allow the installation of new fully accessible service routes along the corridor ‘cheeks’, simplified access for maintenance and improving the environment for staff and students.
This third phase of development at the Broadwater Road Campus remodelled the existing construction trades and engineering workshops. This has improved the environment for staff and students in the classrooms and workshops, while providing new spaces that meet both current and future industry standards.
A modest extension has been constructed comprising of a new teaching classroom, mechanical workshop, CAD/CAM workshop, staff room and entrance lobby. The choice of cladding materials for the extension relates to the previous phases within the masterplan, western red cedar cladding and blue engineering brickwork plinth provides a consistent aesthetic across the campus.
Overall the completed development provides the College with an exciting, vibrant and modern refurbished construction and engineering building and provides a learning facility offering first class training.
“The College is delighted with the new facilities. We set a demanding brief but the scheme has more than delivered on all of our requirements.”
