ECE Architecture have been granted a permission at appeal for a residential scheme on Holland Road, Hove.
The Appeal decision grants permission for the demolition of an existing building and construction of a five-storey mixed-use development, which will comprise basement and ground floor office space with nine apartments to the upper floors.
ECE’s design responds to the existing street scene, giving prominence to the Grade II Listed Palmeira Yard adjacent, and reflecting the surrounding architecture of Brighton and Hove.
A buff blend brick forms the primary material of the development, with the front elevation punctuated by zinc clad balconies. The scheme will benefit from hard and soft landscaping and close access to the seafront and Hove Lawns.
Design proposals have evolved in response to the historical, cultural, built context and sound urban design principles, delivering a viable mix of uses and establishing a sustainable future for the site.Share this
