Planning permission has been granted for the development of Hove Enterprise Centre for Shoreham Port Authority, which is now under construction.
The proposal is for the construction of four commercial units which will enhance the character of the waterfront with its contemporary design. The site is within close proximity to Shoreham Port, and is situated half a mile from Portslade Train Station with accessible public transport links to Brighton City Centre.
The architectural language of the commercial units will reflect the coastal location by incorporating tones of blue, cyan and navy. The eaves and ridges lines have been situated between the two neighbouring buildings to allow the proposal to sit comfortably within its existing context.
Architectural devices such as an asymmetrical frame and large glazed elements are employed to provide a contemporary addition to the port.
Both the north and south elevations have active frontages, with a corrugated metal roof and first floor cladding that creates a strong contemporary building profile.Share this
