Working with Uliving and Bouygues UK, ECE provided the technical delivery for five student accommodation towers, a new student union and fitness facilities for the University of Brighton.
The Mithras Halls of Residence, located on Lewes Road, ranges from 8 -18 storeys and accommodates 804 modern and spacious student bedrooms. The creation of this development has allowed the University to guarantee accommodation and the campus experience for all first year students, easing pressure on local housing.
Each student bedroom sits as part of a self-contained apartment, with typically six to ten bedrooms alongside a communal kitchen and dining area. ECE worked with Uliving to optimise the interiors for student life.
The array of landmark buildings for the redeveloped Moulsecoomb Campus creates a gateway into the city and transforms the local area as well as creating an inspiring environment for students and staff at the University.
The new student residences have been constructed to BREEAM Excellent.
