Located within the South Downs National Park, ECE designed an extension for an existing five-bedroom home.
The proposal includes a high-quality, sensitive extension, which provides a bespoke solution tailored to the site and the existing dwelling. Technical delivery was provided by HAPA Architects.
The proposed materials reflect those used in the existing house. The timber cladding on the extension has been designed to present a more contemporary approach through the use of vertical cladding to allow an attractive contrast between old and new. The flint base to the extension provides that new material that grounds the house and reinforces the connection to the external space created within the gardens and surrounding landscape which includes both dining spaces and relaxing terraces for those long summer evenings.
