- ECE rationalised the existing internal workstation layouts and department configurations to create a more efficient use of space within the existing council building.

ECE were appointed by Lewes District Council to provide Design and Contract Administration for the refurbishment of Southover House, which is located in a Conservation Area in central Lewes.
The project was initiated by the Council’s Agile Working Project to increase efficiencies in both how it uses it existing office accommodation and introducing new ways of working for its staff.
The scheme comprised of the refurbishment of the ground floor open plan reception area including first and second floor office accommodation, which has included Architectural, Interior Design and changes to the main façade glazing to include the Council’s graphic branding. Through close collaboration and staff consultation, the new workspaces not only reduce annual occupancy costs but also enhance the working environment.
Works were carried out on a phased basis as the building was fully occupied during the refurbishment of the building.Share this
