Varndean College development gets unanimous support
We are delighted to announce that the Varndean College development was unanimously supported by Brighton & Hove Planning Committee yesterday.
The development will prepare the college for future student requirements and replace temporary teaching rooms currently situated on the site. Once finished, the college will have upgraded facilities including:
- A modern single-storey entrance building featuring a café and improved communal space.
- A two-storey teaching building housing high-quality classrooms and specialist teaching space.
- A new four-court sports hall with enhanced changing facilities, storage, and a dance hall.
- Landscape enhancements throughout the campus.
“We are delighted that we will now be able to enhance our facilities and use our beautiful estate to its best advantage for our students and for our community and keep sustainability at our core,”
“This will allow us a better chance to win Government funding grants to improve our buildings and facilities in a phased approach, allowing us to make significant improvements so that we can continue to deliver a superb learning experience for our thousands of young and adult students.”
Donna-Marie Janson, Principal of Varndean College.
To align with the college’s vision for the development, it will be executed through a phased approach over the course of several years, depending on available funding.
