ECE submit proposals for Kingston College redevelopment

ECE Architecture have submitted a planning application for the remodelling of Kingston College.

The proposals are set to open up the college site and improve the entrance experience for visitors and students, as well as increasing the quality and amount of learning and social spaces.

The remodelled plan includes the construction of a two storey entrance building with multipurpose space. The proposed open plan entrance will seamlessly connect with a new student hub and dining area. It will interface with other key areas of the college including the theatre, student services and the employability hub.

ECE have undergone pre-application meetings with the council, together with a series of stakeholder meetings with the college throughout the design development process.

The proposed wrap-around entrance will improve the student experience by enhancing the visual connection and frontage of the college, as well as improving the impact of the Kingston College tower as a landmark within the urban context.
