Adur Civic Centre

ECE Architecture and ECE Planning have submitted design proposals on behalf of The Hyde Group for the former Adur Civic Centre site in Shoreham-by-Sea. This is the first site that ECE have secured on the Hyde Housing framework.

The proposed development will provide over 170 bespoke apartments with 30% affordable housing and additional commercial space.

ECE’s design has been continually developed and refined through the pre-application stage, working with officers, consultees, councillors and the public to create an exceptional response that complements the surroundings.

Site Model Render

Historically the site was home to the Coliseum Theatre which was first built in World War One before being closed due to war-time conditions. The building was converted into a machine shop before being demolished to build the Adur Civic Centre.

This development will be a key building within Shoreham and will link the town’s historic assets with the more contemporary sites.

The architecture of the proposed development is influenced by neighbouring buildings, in particular the industrial/wharf buildings which are located at the south of the site. Care has been taken to ensure that the materials used will reflect the character and context of Shoreham.
