Bracknell Bus Depot

ECE worked with Stonegate Homes on this newly approved scheme, which is located on a constrained urban site close to the heart of the newly regenerated Lexicon Shopping Centre.

The proposal provides 242 new homes, offering a range of accommodation including a mix of Studio, 1 and 2 bed apartments. The scheme is conceived of two separate blocks. The tallest block is 11 storeys and the lowest block is 9 storeys. The scheme also includes a 35% affordable housing mix.

The historical context of a market on the site provided the inspiration to create an enclosed area for social interaction surrounded by the effective passive surveillance of contemporary residential living quarters.

The scheme includes a central landscaped public realm, new tree and planting regimes to its boundaries together with sky gardens and amenity spaces permeating various levels of the built form.

Parking for 193 parking bays are hidden from view at ground and mezzanine levels by screens and commercial units to activate entrance spaces providing a 0.8 parking ratio together with 340 cycle spaces for residents.
