This new 4 storey building provides teaching facilities for a range of building construction skills and is located at a key gateway to the college campus. The building has been designed to present a fresh approach to the College’s image.
The visitor arriving on the site from the west will be welcomed by a building façade enlivened by the shadows of people on the stairs behind the translucent Reglit. The College name in super-graphics is placed high on the façade. At ground floor a dynamic new finger canopy extends from the building to shepherd visitors towards the main entrance.
The new teaching facility is more open on the south and east sides where the landscape opportunities permit. Storey high sliding folding doors open the façade of the teaching workshops on the south side providing a lively window to the teaching within.
