Working with South Thames College Group, ECE Architecture have remodelled Kingston College to construct a two storey entrance building and multi-purpose space.
The open plan entrance seamlessly connects with a new student hub and dining area, interfacing with other key areas of the college including the theatre, student services and the employability hub.
The wrap-around entrance improves the student experience by enhancing the visual connection and frontage of the college, as well as improving the impact of the Kingston College tower as a landmark within the urban context. In addition the quality and amount of much needed learning and social spaces has also been increased.
ECE underwent pre-application meetings with the council, together with a series of stakeholder meetings with the college throughout the design development process.
