ECE Architecture secures Reserved Matters Approval for new housing development in Hertfordshire

We are thrilled to announce that our London team at ECE Architecture has received unanimous reserved matters approval for the proposed scheme at Cowards Lane, Codicote, Hertfordshire. Working closely with the client Croudace Homes, this exciting new development, situated to the south of the main village, will introduce 83 new homes, with 40% designated as affordable housing.

The diverse mix of dwellings will cater to a range of needs, comprising 1-2 bedroom apartments and 2, 3, 4, and 5-bedroom houses. The development is thoughtfully divided into three distinct character areas centred around a large open space, with each area featuring slightly different yet balanced materials, creating a cohesive community aesthetic.

Our landscape-led approach ensures that the new settlement respects the local architectural vernacular, seamlessly integrating with the surrounding environment. The landscape design will unify the character of the development, providing a natural extension to Codicote and enhancing the periphery of the village. Carefully designed open spaces will blend the development into its landscape setting, creating a coherent and inviting sense of place.

In addition, the development will include several themed play areas, offering a variety of equipment and naturalistic play activities for children. This focus on play and community spaces underscores our commitment to creating vibrant, family-friendly environments.
