RIBA 2030 Climate Challenge
ECE have signed up to the RIBA 2030 Climate Challenge in order to improve the construction industry’s carbon footprint.
In June 2019, the RIBA joined a global declaration of an environmental and climate emergency.
Chartered practices have been set sustainability targets in order to contribute to the UK’s goal to bring all greenhouse gas emissions to net zero by 2050.
The challenge set by the RIBA is to achieve the following reductions by 2030:
- Reduce operational energy demand by at least 75%, before UK offsetting
- Reduce embodied carbon by at least 50-70%, before UK offsetting
- Reduce potable water use by at least 40%
- Achieve all core health and wellbeing targets (set out below)
ECE are committed to meeting our climate challenge targets to ensure we are playing our part in mitigating climate change.
