ECE Architecture in conjunction with ECE Planning has received planning approval for a new development in Orchard Gardens, Hove. The scheme will provide 36 high quality residential dwellings and 293sqm of commercial space, along with public realm and private courtyard areas. Located amongst green spaces and situated close to Hove Park, the development will provide an aesthetically pleasing and thoughtfully designed development drawing on elements from the surrounding context.
The overall build respects the neighbourhood context, referencing the industrial and housing setting within Hove. Benefitting the local community, the scheme will improve the pedestrian environment and create a distinctive frontage.
The west elevation will feature corner windows to provide dual-aspect spaces, while the south elevation will feature solar shading to prevent overheating. The proposed commercial space is to achieve BREEAM ‘Excellent’ by utilising a number of sustainable methods.
