Richmond upon Thames & Wandsworth Council have appointed ECE Architecture to deliver a new sports hall for Richmond upon Thames School, also designed by ECE.
The sports hall is located at first floor level, with studio and changing facilities on the ground floor, due to site constraints.
The site is located in Twickenham in close proximity Twickenham Stadium, the home of English Rugby & the RFU, and Twickenham Stoop, the home of London Harlequins.
An energy hierarchy of Lean, Clean and Green has been followed to reduce operational energy use and carbon emissions with passive design prioritised. The roof will feature PV panels to provide a renewable energy source and a sedum green roof to encourage biodiversity at the site.
