A two-phase design £18M development was designed with the university, which commenced with a full reworking of the university’s relationship with the public domain and the introduction of visitors to a clear point of contact. From this new reception, visitors are drawn down an avenue of university facilities, which is top lit and remains an open access space.
The second phase of the development will create a clear destination at the centre of the campus by providing a covered central space providing a portal to the large campus library, the renowned restaurant, student services and the like.
