Northbrook College Masterplan wins RICS South East Award 2016

The five-year re-development has been awarded for the regeneration category

ECE are delighted to have received an RICS South East Award for the Northbrook College five-year masterplan development, under the regeneration category.

The RICS Judges comment:

“This 5 year masterplan development is an excellent example of how an education campus can be redeveloped in a sustainable manner, resulting in improved outcomes for learners and enabling the college to offer the candidates with the right skills for business, acting as a catalyst for regeneration in the area. The careful consideration of land disposals has added to the regeneration of the area through new education, care, housing and retail facilities. The redevelopment has reinvigorated the College and put it at the heart of the local community.”

The Northbrook College masterplan commenced in 2010 after a comprehensive review of the Colleges existing facilities encompassing building condition, suitability and the ability to meet the College’s future needs and Education Vision.

Zoning and phasing plans were developed alongside a funding strategy of grants and land disposals. Concept designs conveyed the College’s aspirations to senior management and external stakeholders that assisted in gaining support for the proposals.

“Northbrook College is an inspirational regeneration scheme conceived to consolidate the land occupied by two campuses to create increased student capacity with modern facilities”
